I attended last year and over thirty of San Diego Restaurant Week’s best restaurants served samples of house specialties paired with a unique beverages. There were about 20 local breweries, wineries and spirit companies. There was live music from the Dave Patrone Band. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of San Diego.

This year’s event had an elaborate San Diego Taste Kick-off Party 2012 at the Broadway Pier with live entertainment, tasty tidbits from participating restaurants and interesting silent auction items. I loved the “Presidential Ceremonial First Pitch” pictures and the Beatle’s Memorabilia.

Many  San Diego restaurant owners and chefs were there to promote San Diego’s Culinary Prowess. Paricipants could gaze at the Midway in San Diego’s Harbor and watch chefs prepare their culinary feats.
