The Grgich Hills Winery Tour
I loved the Grgich Hills Estate. It is a family owned and operated winery dedicated to “”00% estate grown certified organic and Biodynamic® vineyards. Founder and Winemaker Miljenko “Mike” Grgich, inducted into the Vintner Hall of Fame in 2008, His Chateau Montelena Chardonnay that won the historic 1976 Paris Tasting, besting the top white Burgundies.
I had a gourmet three course lunch in an elegant 1915 Pullman Lounge dining car as I traveled northbound from downtown Napa. It was a lovely scenic ride through the Napa Valley to Rutherford. At Rutherfore, I visited the Grgich Hills Estate for a one-hour private tour and tasting.
